A bridging visa is an interim status that solves something the ordinary rules do not allow: changing your visa or extending your stay without leaving Indonesia. Normally switching visa type means flying out and coming back on a new document. A bridging visa removes that flight.

The price is IDR 4,000,000 all-in. Documents are filed remotely, no in-person verification at immigration is required, and the stay permit is issued straight away.

What it is used for

The two main uses of a bridging visa.
ScenarioWhat happensWho it suits
Extending a stay on a VOAAdds another 60 days beyond the standard 30 + 30, with no departurePeople who have used the single eVOA extension but are not planning to leave
Changing statusMoving from a visit visa to a KITAS, or from one KITAS to anotherPeople already in Indonesia switching status — for example from an investor KITAS to an E33G

Extending a VOA without leaving is by far the most common use. A standard eVOA gives 30 days plus one 30-day extension; after that the ordinary route requires departure. A bridging visa adds 60 more days inside the country.

Why the route is convenient

  • All documents are filed remotely — there is nowhere to travel to
  • No in-person verification at the immigration office
  • The stay permit is issued immediately
  • No flight out and back just to reset your status
Note: biometrics for a subsequent visa extension remain mandatory — that is a separate procedure. A bridging visa removes the need to leave the country, not the need to attend biometrics.

Price and timing

If you are applying for a KITAS while already in Indonesia, the bridging visa is part of the route: the same IDR 4,000,000 is added to the price of an investor or work KITAS for the onshore switch.

Moving to a KITAS E33G: when you need it and when you don't

Here is the detail that costs people money. The route depends on which document you are currently in the country on.

  • From a C1 visa, conversion to E33G is direct — no bridging visa needed
  • From an eVOA, there is no direct conversion: the move only works through a bridging visa, as a separate procedure with its own cost
Common condition: at least 30 days must remain on your current visa. Later than that is too late to file.

How it works

We review your case

We look at the document you are in the country on, how long is left on it and the status you need at the end, and say straight away whether a bridging visa is needed at all.

We collect documents

You send scans — everything is remote, with no office visit.

We file

We prepare and submit the application, pay the government fees and follow it through to a decision.

You get the status

The stay permit arrives immediately. We then start the application for your target visa or KITAS.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a bridging visa cost?

IDR 4,000,000 all-in, with government fees included. When it is part of a move onto a KITAS, that amount is added to the price of the KITAS itself.

How many days does it add?

Sixty days on top of what you already have. On an eVOA that means 30 days of the initial stay, 30 days of the extension and a further 60 days on the bridging visa — without leaving Indonesia.

Do I have to visit the immigration office?

Not for the bridging visa itself: documents are filed remotely and no in-person verification is required. Biometrics for an ordinary visa extension are a separate procedure and remain mandatory.

Can I move straight from an eVOA to a KITAS E33G?

Not directly. From an eVOA the move only works through a bridging visa. A C1 visa converts directly. In both cases at least 30 days must remain on the current visa.

Can I switch from one KITAS to another without leaving?

Yes — that is the second main use of a bridging visa, for example moving from an investor KITAS to a remote worker KITAS E33G.
