D12 is the visa for preparing a business in Indonesia: market research, negotiations, finding premises. Each visit gives up to 180 days, and inside the visit the stay extends by a further 180 — up to 360 days per entry.

The extension is IDR 5,000,000 all-in, with the government fee inside.

No company needed to extend: a D12 is extended even when the PT PMA is still only a plan. What does matter is using the visa for its stated purpose — preparing an investment, not living on the island.

Where the route leads

D12 is designed as a preparation stage, not a permanent status. Working and earning income in Indonesia are not permitted on it.

The standard path is D12 → register a PT PMAinvestor KITAS. Once the company exists, moving to a KITAS settles the question of extensions for two years ahead.

Biometrics are mandatory

Since June 2025 every extension requires you in person: a photograph, fingerprints and a short interview.

Everything else — documents, filing, fees, tracking — is ours. Offices in Bali: Denpasar, Ngurah Rai (Jimbaran) and Singaraja.

Gili, Lombok, Nusa Penida: no need to fly to Bali

Extensions are filed online, so where you are staying does not affect the application. We handle clients on Gili, Lombok and Nusa Penida, and in Jakarta and Surabaya, exactly as on Bali.

The only part tied to a location is biometrics: you attend the office covering your area. Nusa Penida has no office of its own, so people travel to Denpasar.

How the extension works

We check your case

We look at the visa type, expiry date and extensions used, and say straight away if extending is not possible.

We prepare and file

We assemble the package, submit, pay the fees and follow it to a decision.

You attend biometrics

We tell you the office, date and time. About half an hour.

You get the approval

It arrives as a notification. We set a reminder for the next deadline.

Frequently asked questions

Will a D12 be extended without a registered company?

Yes. A registered PT PMA is not required to extend a D12 — we extend for people whose company is still only a plan. What does matter is using the visa for its stated purpose: preparing an investment and negotiating, rather than simply living on the island.

How many times can a D12 be extended?

Once, for 180 days inside a visit. Together with the initial permit that gives up to 360 days per entry, while the visa itself remains valid for one or two years.

How much does a D12 extension cost?

IDR 5,000,000 all-in. The government stay-permit fee is already inside that figure.

Can I just leave instead of extending?

Yes. D12 is multiple-entry, so departure does not cancel it: after a new arrival you get another 180 days. Sometimes that beats the extension on price — it depends on the fare.

How is D12 different from an investor KITAS?

D12 is a preparation stage: exploring the market, negotiating, setting the business up. It does not allow you to work or earn income. Once the company is running, an investor KITAS E28A replaces it and removes the extension question for two years.

What if I miss the deadline?

An expired permit cannot be extended. The fine is IDR 1,000,000 per day, per person, so message us as soon as you notice — the earlier we start, the smaller the exposure.
