Can I stay the entire visa validity without leaving?
No — a single visit maxes out at 180 days (60 + two extensions). Then you exit; you can return even the next day while the visa is valid.
Who should pick D1/D2 over C1?
If you fly to Indonesia several times a year, the multiple-entry visa saves you re-applying for every trip. If the plan is one long uninterrupted stay, a C1 is enough.
