Closing a Company in Indonesia
Projects end — for different reasons: the market didn’t click, a partnership dissolved, the focus moved. But an Indonesian company doesn’t evaporate: while it sits in the registries it must file and pay, and misses pile into penalties and problems for directors and shareholders.
Proper liquidation is a multi-stage process: corporate resolutions, appointing a liquidator, public notices, settling with creditors, tax reconciliation and removing the company from every registry. We run it end to end, for PT PMA and Local PT alike.

Frequently asked questions
Can I just stop using the company?
Technically yes, legally it’s the worst option: obligations don’t vanish, penalties grow, and the tail follows the directors and shareholders. Proper closure costs money and time — and ends it for good.
How long does liquidation take?
Several months to a year or more — the tax stage drives the timeline: reconciliation, a possible audit and NPWP revocation. We’ll give an exact forecast after an express audit of the company.
The company is behind on filings — now what?
Restoration first: we back-file the returns, settle the penalties and clean the history — only then does liquidation start. We do both parts.
Are there alternatives to closing?
Two: selling the company (if it holds value — licences, history, assets) or dormant mode with continued nil reporting. We’ll calculate which is cheaper in your case.
