A KITAS E33G is extended for another year and does not require leaving the country. That is the main difference between residence status and visit visas: no 60-day segments to count and no visa runs to plan.

The extension is IDR 12,000,000 all-in per year, government fees inside.

Price

Remote worker KITAS E33G, August 2026.
What we doStatus validityAll-in priceDeparture needed
Extend a valid E33G1 yearIDR 12,000,000no
Move onto E33G from a C11 yearIDR 12,000,000no, direct conversion
Move onto E33G from an eVOA1 yearIDR 16,000,000no, via a bridging visa

The IDR 4,000,000 difference when coming from an eVOA is the bridging visa: there is no direct conversion from a visa on arrival, so an interim status is required.

When to start

A month before the current status expires. The formal condition is that at least 30 days must remain on the KITAS, otherwise it is too late to file.

Important: an expired KITAS cannot be extended. The status has to be closed through EPO and a new one arranged from scratch — longer and more expensive than extending.

What you will need

  • A valid passport with at least 6 months left
  • A personal photo
  • Your address in Indonesia
  • An employment contract with a company abroad
  • Proof of income from USD 60,000 a year
Document requirements for an E33G are stricter than for visit visas. Message our consultant — we will go through your case in detail and say what is missing.

Biometrics are mandatory

Since June 2025 every extension requires you in person: a photograph, fingerprints and a short interview.

Everything else — documents, filing, fees, tracking — is ours. Offices in Bali: Denpasar, Ngurah Rai (Jimbaran) and Singaraja.

Gili, Lombok, Nusa Penida: no need to fly to Bali

Extensions are filed online, so where you are staying does not affect the application. We handle clients on Gili, Lombok and Nusa Penida, and in Jakarta and Surabaya, exactly as on Bali.

The only part tied to a location is biometrics: you attend the office covering your area. Nusa Penida has no office of its own, so people travel to Denpasar.

How the extension works

We check your case

We look at the visa type, expiry date and extensions used, and say straight away if extending is not possible.

We prepare and file

We assemble the package, submit, pay the fees and follow it to a decision.

You attend biometrics

We tell you the office, date and time. About half an hour.

You get the approval

It arrives as a notification. We set a reminder for the next deadline.

Frequently asked questions

Is it true that an E33G cannot be extended and must be closed through EPO?

No — this is a common misconception, and both claims still circulate online. A valid E33G is extended for another year inside the country, without leaving and without closing the status. EPO applies to a different case: closing a KITAS for good, or when the deadline has already passed and there is nothing left to extend.

How much does an E33G extension cost?

IDR 12,000,000 all-in for a year, with government fees included.

Do I need to leave the country to extend?

No. Extending a valid E33G happens inside Indonesia. Leaving is only needed when the status has already lapsed and a new one is being arranged.

What does it cost to move onto an E33G from an eVOA or C1?

IDR 16,000,000 onshore — that is the conversion through a bridging visa. From a C1 the conversion runs directly; from an eVOA there is no direct route, only the interim status.

When should I start the extension?

A month before the current KITAS expires. At least 30 days must remain on the status — later than that is too late to file.

What if I miss the deadline?

An expired KITAS cannot be extended: the status has to be closed via EPO and a new one arranged from scratch, which takes longer and costs more. We set a reminder as soon as the status is issued.
