Foreign-Investment Company PT PMA
PT PMA (Perseroan Terbatas Penanaman Modal Asing) is the core, most reliable format for a foreign investor in Indonesia. Any foreign share — 1% or 100 — makes a company foreign, and revenue-generating activity is open to foreigners only through it.
A PT PMA unlocks the full set: legal business and contracts, a corporate bank account, Investor KITAS for the owners, hiring, and market participation on par with Indonesian companies.

Frequently asked questions
Can a foreigner own 100% of the company?
In many activities — yes. Certain sectors carry a foreign-share cap under the investment list. We’ll check your KBLI and give the exact figure before you start.
Do I have to deposit IDR 10 billion right away?
10 billion is the PT PMA charter-capital requirement; how it is declared and evidenced depends on structure and sector. It’s a central planning question — we’ll lay out the options honestly in consultation.
What does the company give me personally?
A route to the Investor KITAS (residence with the right to run your own company), corporate and personal bank accounts, local insurance — and a legal foundation for life and business in Indonesia.
What obligations start after registration?
Monthly taxes, the quarterly LKPM investment report, the annual return — even a dormant company must file. We pick this up with the accounting retainer.
I only need a presence, no revenue
Then a PT PMA isn’t required — a representative-office format exists for presence without commercial activity. We’ll tell you which fits your case.
