Bali immigration offices 2026: which one is yours
Bali has five immigration offices: Denpasar, Ngurah Rai, Singaraja, Tabanan and Klungkung. The last two opened on 6 April 2026. You do not get to choose — your application goes to the office whose area covers your address. Filing is online, but one visit for the photo remains mandatory.

The five offices and their areas
Your office is determined by your residential address, not by which one is easiest to park at. Here is how the island is divided.

What changed in April 2026
On 6 April 2026 two new offices formally opened in Bali — Tabanan and Klungkung. Until then the island was served by three: Denpasar, Ngurah Rai and Singaraja, which meant Tabanan residents travelled to Denpasar and people on Nusa Penida took a ferry to the mainland.
The point is load: the number of foreigners on the island keeps growing, and Ngurah Rai alone carried the whole south. If you live in Tabanan or on the islands, the change is a practical one — your visit just got a lot closer.
Why you cannot pick your own office
An extension application goes to the office whose working area covers the foreigner's place of residence. That is a rule, not a suggestion — an application filed at the wrong office simply will not go through, and you lose the time.

How the visit works
Filing is online, but the procedure includes a photo taken at the office, so one visit stays mandatory.
Documents go through the government portal: passport, a sponsor's guarantee letter if you have a sponsor, and a statement of your purpose in Indonesia.
As long as payment clears before your current permit expires, no overstay accrues — even if the visit itself comes later.
The office sends an electronic notice that your documents were received and books you in.
Takes a few minutes. Dress conservatively: shorts, singlets and beachwear are a common reason to be turned away.
The finished permit arrives electronically — there is no paper to collect.
Timing and cost
Official government fees for extending a visit stay permit:
- ✓30 days — IDR 500,000 per application (e-VOA extension)
- ✓60 days — IDR 2,000,000 (C1 visa and D-series multiple-entry extensions)
- ✓180 days — IDR 6,000,000 (C12 and D12 pre-investment visas)
Processing takes up to 3 working days from the moment payment is received. You may file no earlier than 14 days before your current permit ends, and no later than the day it ends. The new period starts the day after the previous one finishes, so no days are lost.

What happens if I file too late?
You may file up to and including the day your current permit expires. If payment clears by then, no overstay accrues. Miss it and the overstay starts at IDR 1,000,000 per day, per person.
