D1 and D2 multiple-entry visas 2026: a year of entries
D1 and D2 are multiple-entry visit visas valid for one or two years with unlimited entries. Each arrival opens 60 days, extendable in-country to 180 days per visit. The D1 covers tourism (from IDR 5,000,000 a year), the D2 business purposes (from IDR 5,500,000). Leaving the country does not cancel them.

How D1 and D2 work
These are D-series multiple-entry visit visas. The visa is issued for one or two years, and throughout that period the number of entries is unlimited. Each arrival opens a fresh 60 days, extendable inside the country up to 180 days per visit.

D1 or D2: the difference
The index is set by the purpose of your trips, and it cannot be changed later — the purpose is declared when you apply.

How the stay is counted
This is where most confusion starts, so step by step: visa validity and permitted stay are two different things.
That is the window in which you may enter. On its own it does not entitle you to be in the country.
The count restarts from the arrival date, however many times you come in.
Within a visit the stay can be extended twice, taking a single visit to 180 days.
Fly out and back and you get 60 days again. The visa itself survives, unlike a C1.
The official fee for each 60-day extension is IDR 2,000,000. Our all-in extension is IDR 2,600,000 when filed 6 or more working days ahead; shorter notice costs more.
Passport requirements
Annual D-series visas are stricter than the e-VOA here, and a fair share of applications fail on this.

Who it pays off for, and who it does not
A multiple-entry visa is justified by how often you fly, not by how long you stay.
- ✓Three or more trips a year — a D1 or D2 is cheaper and calmer than a visa before every flight
- ✓Living between two countries — Bali and somewhere else — this is your option
- ✓Travelling for business — regular meetings and conferences are covered by the D2
- !Living on the island without leaving — a C1 or E33G works out cheaper; a multiple-entry visa is money wasted
- !One two-week trip — take an e-VOA
- !Planning to work or run a business — you need a KITAS; visit visas will not help

What are the passport requirements?
Annual D-series visas need a passport valid for at least 18 months with a minimum of 4 blank pages. That is stricter than the e-VOA, where six months is enough.
Does leaving the country cancel a multiple-entry visa?
No, and that is its key difference from the C1. The visa stays valid for its full term, and every new arrival opens a fresh 60 days of stay.
