The C1 Visa: Half a Year in Bali, No Exits

The C1 is the tourist visa for those who need more than 60 days: it grants 60 days upfront and extends in-country up to 180 days total. Issued online before departure, from IDR 2,500,000. It is the wintering crowd’s default: half a year on the island without a single stamp run.

How the visa works

  • 60 days on entry + in-country extensions up to 180 total
  • Single-entry: exiting voids the visa — for back-and-forth travel see the D1/D2
  • Issued online before departure, within a few working days
  • The electronic C1 works with the autogate

Extensions: don’t ruin your half-year

Extensions are filed before the current term expires — with at least 6 working days to spare, and since June 2025 they include a biometrics visit (see our immigration offices guide). Miss the window and the overstay meter runs at IDR 1,000,000 a day. With our support, we track the dates: reminders and early filings.

What the C1 forbids

  • !Working for Indonesian companies and any income inside the country
  • !Serving local clients or promoting Indonesian brands — immigration treats it as work: the red lines
  • !Planning to live and work remotely — the right status is the E33G
