A Schengen visa is filed where a person legally lives, not where they hold citizenship. For a KITAS holder that is Indonesia: documents are accepted in Jakarta, Bali and Surabaya, with no need to fly home.

We show the consular fee separately from our commission on principle. When an agency quotes a single "all-in" figure, it usually hides both the fee and the markup, and there is no way to tell what you are paying for.
Where to file
Visa centres accept applications in Jakarta, on Bali and in Surabaya. A KITAS is accepted as identification, and applications open no earlier than six months before the trip.
The main-country rule. You file with the consulate of the country where you will spend the most days, and where the split is equal, the country of entry. This is where most applications come apart: the itinerary is built for one country while the trip is actually spent in another.
What to prepare

- Medical insurance for EUR 30,000 covering the entire zone
- Proof of funds: recent bank statements
- Proof of employment or of your own business

Frequently asked questions
Can I apply for a Schengen visa while living in Bali?
Yes. The application is filed where you legally reside, not where you hold citizenship. For a KITAS or KITAP holder that is Indonesia — flying to your home country is not required.
Is a KITAS required?
Yes, for Schengen it is mandatory. Without a residence permit the consulates in Indonesia will not accept a foreigner’s application, and the consular fee is not refunded if the application is not accepted.
How much is the consular fee?
EUR 90 for adults and EUR 45 for children aged 6 to 12; under 6 is free. The visa centre charges its own service fee on top. Our commission is billed separately from the consular fee — we always show them apart.
Where are documents accepted?
In Jakarta, Bali and Surabaya — visa centres operate in all three cities, and a KITAS is accepted as proof of identity.
How far ahead should I apply?
Four to eight weeks before the trip. The processing norm is 15 days, but in summer and around holidays the queue for an appointment stretches more than the processing itself.
Will I get a multiple-entry visa?
Most likely not. Residents of Indonesia are usually issued a single-entry visa for a specific trip, so plan around that rather than around hopes of a multi-entry.
