Extending Your eVOA in Bali 2026: Step-by-Step

The eVOA can be extended once for 30 days (60 days total maximum). You apply online at evisa.imigrasi.go.id, the state fee is IDR 500,000, but since June 2025 an in-person biometrics visit to immigration is mandatory. File at least 7 days before expiry — overstaying costs IDR 1,000,000 per day.

How much you can extend

The Visa on Arrival (VOA and eVOA) gives 30 days and can be extended exactly once for another 30 — no more than 60 days in total, with arrival and departure days counting as full days. There is no second extension, and you cannot apply for a new visa without leaving: after 60 days you must exit. Staying longer — consider the C1 tourist visa (up to 180 days) or a multiple-entry D1/D2.

Extending online: 6 steps

STEP 1Go to the official portal

Only evisa.imigrasi.go.id — lookalike sites with “service fees” abound. Choose “Find Existing Stay Permit” so the system pulls up your active eVOA by passport.

STEP 2Fill in the extension application

Enter details exactly as in your passport; upload the photo-page scan if prompted.

STEP 3Pay the IDR 500,000 state fee

By card on the portal. Keep the payment confirmation.

STEP 4Wait for the biometrics e-mail

After payment you receive an appointment at an immigration office — attend within 3 days. Bali offices: Denpasar, Jimbaran (Ngurah Rai), Singaraja.

STEP 5Attend the biometrics session

Photo, fingerprints, signature — about 30 minutes. Dress code: covered shoulders and knees, shoes.

STEP 6Receive the extension by e-mail

Typically 3–7 working days — and you have another 30 legal days.

When to file

  • At least 7 days before expiry — processing takes 3–7 working days, and holidays stretch it
  • Attend biometrics within 3 days of payment, or the application lapses
  • Missed the window? Count the cost: each day over is IDR 1,000,000. What to do — in our overstay guide

DIY or through an agency

DIY means the portal, payment, e-mails and the office queue. Through an agency you come once, for biometrics only — we handle the application, the appointment and status tracking, and warn you early if your dates don’t add up. For those who value time more than 30 minutes at immigration.

FAQ

Can the eVOA be extended a second time?

No. One extension, 60 days total maximum. After that — exit and a new visa, or a long visa arranged in advance.

How much does the extension cost?

The state fee is IDR 500,000. Agency service is charged separately — ask us for the current price in one click.

Is the immigration visit mandatory?

Yes, since June 2025 biometrics (photo and fingerprints) are mandatory for all extensions, even with online filing. It is a single visit.

Can a counter VOA bought at the airport be extended?

Yes, the same rules apply: once for 30 days, online or at the office, biometrics required.

What if I just stay past 60 days?

Overstay: IDR 1,000,000 per day, and past 60 days of overstay — deportation and a re-entry ban. See our overstay guide.
