Bali Visa Extension in 2026: Every Type, Terms and Rules

What can be extended, and for how long

The rule is simple: an extension never changes your visa type — it only adds days within that visa's own limit. Once the limit is used up, the options are leaving the country or switching to a different status.

• ✓eVOA / VOA — 1 extension of 30 days, 60 days maximum. Government fee IDR 500,000, filed online. Step by step in our eVOA extension guide.
• ✓C1 tourist visa — 2 extensions of 60 days, 180 maximum. Each is processed via a sponsor in-country; details on the C1 page.
• ✓C2 business visa — 2 extensions of 60 days, 180 maximum, same scheme as the C1. More on the C2 page.
• ✓Multiple-entry D1/D2 — the stay within each entry is extendable. With us: IDR 2,600,000 when filed 6+ working days ahead, IDR 3,100,000 urgent, IDR 3,600,000 if your passport has under 6 months left. About the visa itself — D1/D2.
• ✓D12 Pre-Investment — 1 extension of 180 days, up to 360 per entry: IDR 7,000,000 (IDR 8,000,000 with a passport under 6 months). Since February 2026 a PT PMA is required — see below.

Biometrics: the visit you cannot skip

Since June 2025 (circular IMI-417.GR.01.01) every extension of a visa or stay permit requires showing up in person: photo, fingerprints, a short interview. An agency can handle everything else — paperwork, filing, fees — but the biometrics trip is yours. D12: new rules since 2 February 2026

All Bali offices now approve D12 extensions only on two conditions: the applicant has a registered PT PMA with their name in the deed of establishment, and the visa has been used for its stated purpose — preparing an investment, not simply living on the island. When to apply, and what overstaying costs

Apply at least 7–10 working days before your permit ends: processing takes 3 to 10 working days depending on the visa, and the biometrics slot adds waiting time of its own. Miss the deadline and the overstay clock starts: IDR 1,000,000 per day per person, children included; past 60 days it means detention, deportation and an entry ban.
