Bali Visa Extension in 2026: Every Type, Terms and Rules
Almost every Indonesian visa can be extended without leaving: the eVOA once for 30 days, the C1 and C2 twice for 60 days each, the D12 once for a full 180. Since June 2025 every extension requires an in-person biometrics visit at an immigration office, so apply at least 7–10 working days ahead. Overstaying costs IDR 1,000,000 per day per person.

What can be extended, and for how long
The rule is simple: an extension never changes your visa type — it only adds days within that visa's own limit. Once the limit is used up, the options are leaving the country or switching to a different status.

Biometrics: the visit you cannot skip
Since June 2025 (circular IMI-417.GR.01.01) every extension of a visa or stay permit requires showing up in person: photo, fingerprints, a short interview. An agency can handle everything else — paperwork, filing, fees — but the biometrics trip is yours. Bali has five offices: Denpasar, Ngurah Rai (Jimbaran), Singaraja, Tabanan and Klungkung; which one is yours depends on where you live. D12: use the visa for what it is meant for
Extending a D12 does not require an existing company — it is granted to people whose PT PMA is still only a plan. But the purpose of the visa is specific: preparing an investment, researching the market and negotiating, rather than simply living on the island. When to apply, and what overstaying costs
Apply at least 7–10 working days before your permit ends: processing takes 3 to 10 working days depending on the visa, and the biometrics slot adds waiting time of its own. Miss the deadline and the overstay clock starts: IDR 1,000,000 per day per person, children included; past 60 days it means detention, deportation and an entry ban. FAQ
Can I extend my visa fully online, without visiting immigration?
No. The application is filed online, but since June 2025 biometrics (photo and fingerprints) are mandatory for every extension — at least one in-person visit is required.
How many times can the eVOA be extended?
Once, for 30 days — 60 days maximum in total. After that, the only options are leaving the country or a different visa arranged in advance.
Can the C1 be extended a third time?
No. The C1 grants 60 days plus two 60-day extensions — 180 days maximum. After that you must leave Indonesia.
Will a D12 be extended without a registered company?
Yes. A registered PT PMA is not required to extend a D12 that lists the applicant in the deed of establishment.
What happens if I overstay?
A fine of IDR 1,000,000 per day per person, children included. Overstaying beyond 60 days means detention, deportation and an entry ban.
