Before You Fly to Bali
Your visa is ready — now just land smoothly. Two minutes of reading is all it takes.
Before departure
- ✓Save your e-Visa (PDF) to your phone — offline, not just in your inbox.
- ✓Fill in the All Indonesia arrival card — mandatory for every traveller: allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id. Available up to 72 hours before arrival; a QR code arrives by e-mail. Free of charge.
- ✓Check your passport: valid for at least 6 more months. The autogate works only with a biometric (chip) passport; without a chip you must go through the officer’s counter.
- ✓The Love Bali levy (IDR 150,000) is optional: you can pay online at lovebali.baliprov.go.id or upon arrival.
At the airport
- ✓With an electronic visa, use the autogate: press your passport (no cover) firmly on the scanner, look at the camera — 15–25 seconds and you are in. No stamp is placed: entry is recorded electronically, which is normal.
- ✓Children aged 6+ use the autogate themselves with their own passport. Under 6 — only via the officer’s counter, together with a parent.
- ✓Gate didn’t open? Try the next one, pressing the passport more firmly and holding it a bit longer. Still no luck — just go to the officer’s counter; that’s a normal situation.
Important: entry must be recorded for every person, including children. Do not carry a small child past the control “in your arms” — without an entry record you will face problems at extension and departure.
While in Indonesia
- !Do not work for Indonesian companies or receive income inside the country unless your visa status expressly permits it. Common mistakes immigration treats as work: posting an ad to rent out a villa or find a flatmate, advertising or tagging brands on Instagram. This can lead to a heavy fine or deportation for violating immigration law.
- !Watch your visa expiry date carefully: overstay costs IDR 1,000,000 per day.
